Episode 101: Swordsman and Sword Master - Who Are They?

A young listener caught the name of a character I mentioned briefly in Episode 85, and asked me to follow up with his history.  This made me realize I had messed up in that episode, so I go over the history of the character I did name, plus dive into the backstory of the similarly named character I actually meant.

Apparently, if you have a French name, you also get an upturned mustache. I don’t write the rules, I just report them.

Marry a tree? (I’d make a “slippery slope” joke here, but I’m afraid someone might think I mean it)

Episode 85: Who is Taskmaster (aka Tony Masters)?

We’ll be seeing him join the MCU soon in Black Widow, but who is Taskmaster in Marvel Comics?  That is the question being asked this week by one of the younger listeners of Welcome to Geektown, and so we explain the history and powers of the skull-masked villain, to see what makes him so special.

Episode 75: Who is Kamala Khan (aka Ms. Marvel)?

Not counting the ones I’ve already talked about, of the upcoming Marvel TV shows, the one I’m most excited for is Ms. Marvel.  But, who is this young woman and how has she become so popular so quickly?  We dive into her history as well as what makes her unique in this episode.

Episode 31: Time Travel Rules (Back to the Future, Bill & Ted, and Avengers: Endgame)

A comparison of time travel rules in a few well-known movies that feature it extensively, from Back to the Future, up to Avengers: Endgame.  SPOILER WARNING: Details of Endgame will be from 11:24 to 15:43, if you want to avoid that still.

I wonder how much Doc Brown had to pay for an “OUTATIME” license plate, since that’s 8 characters, one more than California license plates normally have.

Episode 18: Stan Lee History and Tribute

This week’s episode, instead of answering a question, is a history of and tribute to Stan Lee, who died recently.  We look at his beginnings in the industry, and some of the important contributions he made throughout the years.
